Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman

— feeling alien
Anansi Boys - Neil Gaiman

If you're hoping this will be a continuation of American Gods, you will be sorely disappointed. Other than a God being in it, there is no connection at all.
It was a unique story. One that I'm still on the fence as to whether I can say if I really liked it or not. It was gripping, with each moment having the reader wanting to understand. There was moments of confusion though, several in fact. It had a beginning, middle and end though, so it came together alright.
Definitely not a favorite of mine, but not one to balk at either. Fans of Gaiman's will enjoy it. They get his eccentric writing. If you haven't read a Gaiman book, don't start here. Read The Ocean At The End Of The Lane.
