The Martian by Andy Weir

Incredible!
That's the word I would use to describe the book. With everything that happens in the world today regarding space missions, this story feels so real. When I picked up the book, I had a hard time putting it back down again. You felt like some guy really could have been alone on Mars. Where the author got this idea from is not hard to guess.
The guy, Mark Watney, who gets left on Mars, is such a character. He's sarcastic, but so funny that you will be in stitches. I was, and that's tough since sarcasm is my middle name. The author wrote this character magnificently. Mark is so easy to like.
Andy Weir did such an outstanding job of bringing this story to life that I can see why they made it into a film.
I totally plan on watching the movie in the next couple of days. I hope they do the story justice.
This is a 400 page book but I bet if you picked it up, you'd fly through it. So even if you think you won't be into this book, read it anyway. Believe me, you WILL be surprised. It's epic.
