All too often nowadays, people seem to have forgotten why we celebrate certain holidays. Christmas has become about who got who the best and most extravagant gift. Easter seems to be about bunnies and chocolate. What about Jesus though?
This wonderful book is a companion to the film, The Bible. It is a beautiful and very deep way of remembering what Easter is all about. No matter how many times I see or read about the resurrection of Christ, it always moves me to tears. I also end up feeling humbled, loved, sad, angry, empathy and compassion.
Yes, we eat meals with our families and break bread as Jesus did, but try to remember his sacrifice for us all. Maybe less emphasis on the egg hunt and chocolate and more focus on the reason for the season, Jesus.
